Course Outline

An Islamic Education for Children & Adult

Courses: Aqeedah, Fiqh, Forty Hadeeth, Azkaar, 99 Names of Allah & Qur’an memorization.

Teachers: Bashir Sheikh Mohamed Nur Qawi, Mo'alim Abdishakur, Nabil Sheikh Mohamed Nur Qawi.

Course Description

The courses in our Islamic School provide Muslim children between the ages of 5 & 15 with an understanding of the fundamental principles of the religion. In addition, students focus on the memorization of the holy Qur’an and the ahadeeth of Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu alayhi wasallam). The classes are divided into two levels; beginner, intermediary and advanced.

Course Objective

    • Students focus on learning the Arabic alphabet and learning how to read and write Arabic.
    • Students learn to connect words, write and read Arabic.
    • Students memorize the last ten soorah of the Qur’an.
    • Students learn the basics of singling out Allah alone for worship (Taw heed)
    • Students learn the basics of ablution and prayer.
    • Student small adhkaar to use in their daily lives.
    • Students learn manners derived from the Qur’an and the Sunnah.


  • Level 2: (mediator)
  • Students will proceed with the memorization of the15 Juz Qur’an.
  • Stronger emphasis on revision of what has been memorized.
  • Focus on the explanation on books of fiqh & aqeedah.
  • Introduction to the manhaj of the Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wasallam) & His Companions.
  • Students complete books of hadeeth.
  • Arabic Basic Languages.


Focusing on the question: why cant their regional dairy. Level 3: (Advanced)

  • Students will proceed with the memorization of the Entire Qur’an.
  • Stronger emphasis on revision of what has been memorized.
  • Focus on the explanation on books of Arba’in Al-Nawawi, fiqh & aqeedah.
  • Introduction to the manhaj of the Prophet (salallaahu alayhi wasallam) & His Companions.
  • Students complete second books of hadeeth.
  • Learning Arabic Languages.

 Textbook Information

Required Texts:

  • Students must always come to class prepared with a books & pencil.
  • Each subject must have a book (5 subject must have 5 text book)
  • Al-Qur’an- Kareem (All)
  • Text of Aqeedatul Islamiyyah.
Note: Notebooks, Binders, Pens, Pencils, and other consumables are the parent’s responsibility.



Homework Policy

Definition of homework:

  1. Incomplete Class work.
  2. Assigned Homework.
  3. Reviewing previous lessons.
  4. Preparing for tests and exams.
  5. Working on projects and assignments.
Students in Level 1 should spend approximately 2 – 3 hours on homework per week.

Students in Level 2 should spend approximately 1 – 2 hours on homework per day.

Students who do not complete homework assignments must provide the teacher with a signed parental note explaining the reason for incomplete homework. Incomplete homework on a consistent basis may result in detention and/or suspension until assignments are completed. Parents will be notified of any after school detentions in advance.


Admission Policy for the Madrasa

Admission to the Islamic School is based on the following:

  1. First come initial serve basis.
  2. Students that are not accepted may be put on a waiting list for admission.
  3. Student’s acceptance is conditional on a student’s behaviour and academic performance. If the teachers of the Islamic School feel the student does not meet the expected standards then the school reserves the right to remove the student from the school.
  4. Registration fee is to be paid in full.


Parental Responsibility

Madrasatul IEG Center believes parents are an integral part of the learning and teaching process. We therefore ask that parents MUST take an active part in student’s lives. The following are some of the areas that parents should focus on:

  • Ensuring regular and punctual attendance of your child in clean Islamic attire.
  • Support Islamic values at home.
  • Set an example by adhering to the Quran and Sunnah as understood by the noble companions of the Messenger of Allah (salallaahu alayhi wasallam).
Set an example by adhering to a proper Islamic dress code when coming to the Madrasatul Qur'an Was Sunnah premises.



Parents should make sure children are at the school before the class start 10 minutes. Children who arrive late take up office time and miss announcements. They also interrupt classes and distract others. Please ensure that your child is at the Madrasatul Qur'an Was Sunnah on time so that they may develop a sense of order and punctuality Insha’Allah.

If a student arrives after the class start he/she must report to the front office. A notice will be sent home for parent’s signature and explanation of student’s late arrival.


Extended Absence

All planned extended absences should be discussed with the classroom teacher ahead of time. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their child (ren) covers the missed lessons as promotion or demotion may be at risk for students who take extended absences.


Safe Arrival and Absence from School

Please notify your school if your child will be absent or late by calling the numbers listed below before 11:30 a.m. Leave a message on the answering machine clearly stating the students full name, teacher’s name, and the reason for absence. By informing the school about absence or lateness you are ensuring the safety of all students.

If you know ahead of time about your child’s absence due to a vacation, doctor’s appointment or any other reason, please notify the Madrasatul Qur'an Was Sunnah by phone or a note in advance.


Change of Address & Phone Number

Please inform Madrasatul Qur'an Was Sunnah about any changes to your contact address and telephone numbers. Help us keep our school records up to date for your child’s safety.


Uniform Policy

Students must wear clean and ironed uniforms at all times. Students will not us permitted in the classroom without uniform.

Boys Uniform:

  • Male students must wear a white thaub/khamees and kufi (head covering) to show shu’ur of Islam
  • No earrings or studs allowed
  • Baseball caps are not allowed in the class

Girls Uniform:

  • Female students will wear black ‘abaaya and head covering.
  • The hijaab must cover the entire body. If she is over 16 + must cover the entire body and face. According the Sunnah.
  • No make up is allowed (i.e. lipstick, nail polish etc.)
  • The hijaab should not resemble the clothing of men (i.e. pants)
  • The hijaab should not be perfumed. It should be roomy and not tight.
  • Girls must wear Hijab at all times.


Personal Hygiene and Grooming

Students are expected to shower on a regular basis. Nails must be trimmed neatly and kept short. The Islamic School reserves the right to check every student’s hygiene. If hygiene becomes an issue, students will be sent home and won’t be allowed to return to class until remedial action is taken.
